And more from the past - 2016 CLUB OF THE YEAR: WORTHING SAILING CLUB

This family-orientated club has reached a major milestone in a strategic drive to broaden its reach and reverse an aging membership profile. Now numbering some 450 members, in particular WSC has expanded its junior membership from just six to 100! This was initiated in 2010 when the club purchased six Laser Bug dinghies and came up with the idea of 'Bug Club'. Now, some of those youngsters are undergoing training as Assistant Instructors, and helping to pass on skills to the next generation of juniors.

April 2015 saw the club begin operating from new purpose-built clubhouse facilities, thanks to co-operation from the local council. Having now also achieved RYA Training Centre status, the club's pro-active committee will build further on training initiatives to encourage further membership growth.
