On Saturday evening, the Bugs End-of-Season Halloween Party for 60 people transformed the clubhouse into a bubbling cauldron of laughter, dancing, doughnuts, loo roll and fierce competition. From apple-bobbing triumphs to the torch-lit chocolate hunt on the beach, along with some impressive pumpkin surgery, the night had energy to spare.

A huge thank-you to everyone who joined in, dressed up, carved, baked and embraced the chaos. The kids (in their teams lead by AIs Orson, Abi, Viktor, Nova and Ethan) brought brilliant enthusiasm (and heroic sugar stamina), as did the adults (a few of whom proved harder to manage than the sugar crazed smaller people).
The club felt alive in the best way: families and all age groups mixing, new faces welcomed, and not a quiet corner in sight. And yes, apologies to the committee for the smoke-machine incident at least the fire brigade didn't actually turn up.
Huge and never-ending thanks to Liz and Andy, who once again marshalled the Bugs posse - from the teenager AIs through to even more determined five-year-olds. Games, challenges and Halloween mayhem were dispatched, and as always, they made it look effortless.
In the galley, Tina, assisted by Chris, conjured a spookily good chilli and rice with beautifully presented sides. Her toffee-apple prizes were a work of art.
Behind the bar, Vicky and Jo K kept everyone (some more than others) fuelled all evening, stepping up to be amongst the best dressed - proving that commitment to Bugs at WSC comes in many forms.
Jo P captured some beautiful moments on her camera for us. A big thank-you to her, and to others like Katie, who shared those photos. There were far too many brilliant ones to choose from, so they've all been uploaded to the members' gallery to relive the memories at leisure.
Events like this work because people say 'yes', roll up their sleeves, and get stuck in. To everyone who dressed up, helped decorate, cooked, tidied, cleaned, got wrapped in loo roll, wrangled with small ghouls, or just brought enthusiasm - thank you. You made the magic.
