Andy Qualifies as RYA Senior Instructor

Congratulations to Andy Monk, Our Newest RYA Senior Instructor!

Worthing Sailing Club is delighted to celebrate Andy Monk, who has just completed his RYA Senior Instructor (SI) Dinghy course, a milestone in the RYA training pathway and a huge achievement for any instructor.

The RYA SI qualification is an advanced instructor award, designed for highly experienced Dinghy Instructors who are ready to take on leadership, coaching oversight, and wider centre management responsibilities within RYA-recognised training centres. Senior Instructors play a crucial role in developing courses, supporting instructor teams, and ensuring training activities run safely, smoothly, and with plenty of enthusiasm.

Andy completed his training over four very long (and very wet!) days at Cobnor, braving persistent rain, cold conditions and the usual February coastal surprises. Despite the weather, he kept the energy high and the smiles going...exactly what you'd expect from someone stepping up to SI level.

This qualification is a fantastic next step and a real asset to the Worthing Sailing Club youth programme.
