Evening Series 2024 kicks off - Phil Selwood

Well done to everyone - putting 13 boats out for the first race of the 2024 evening series was a great start to the season. Setting the course was tricky given a neap tide and the fallibility of the wind, but with the help of Nigel J it provided a decent enough challenge which saw some fine competition with each of the three fleets represented.

Melissa and son Jack, as first timers in the race box, did a sterling job despite my efforts to forget (once or twice) that they'd never done it before !!!!!

The evening finished off with a very pleasant après session in true WSC style, with Chloe rounding up a fish and chip supper which went down a treat - thanks C .

Thanks also to new member Clive Willcock along with Duncan Kay who both put their hand up to crew the patrol boat at the very last minute - well done guys.

Finally we should tip our hats to Grahame Dorrington returning to the club after a sabbatical in other climes - welcome home Grahame.

Results are on the website - looks like the makings of a good summer. Phil
