Saturday 19th October was a brilliant day at Worthing Sailing Club, with over 30 dedicated members gathering under sunny skies for a patrol boat refresher session. The perfect weather set the stage for a productive training experience, where club members focused on the essential skills and knowledge needed to manage our tractor and patrol boats safely and effectively.

Run excellently by Colin Rawlings, the session covered a wide range of important topics. Members received a hands-on refresher on each patrol boat's specifics, from understanding the equipment and prepping the boats to launching, recovering, and stowing them. This training is crucial, especially given the often challenging coastal conditions we face at Worthing. Operating our patrol boats safely while minimising wear and tear on club equipment ensures we can continue to provide high-quality support to all sailors.

Learning from Colins experience, by the end of the day, members left with increased confidence in their skills, ready to contribute to safe and smooth sailing seasons to come. Special thanks to Colin and all those who attended and helped make the day a success - your commitment keeps our club thriving and safe for everyone!

Finally, a reminder to all members from the day about the importance of reporting equipment damage by scanning the QR codes which can be found on all club equipment. See it, scan it, save it!
