Worthing Sailing Club is delighted to confirm that we will once again be running the ever-popular Bug Week 2023.
What is Bug Week? The aim of Bug Week is to provide quality dinghy sailing coaching in a safe environment. The course involves a weeks training by qualified RYA instructors, during which time your child will spend time learning about sailing, both on and off the water. The emphasis is on fun.
A parent or designated adult must always be present on site during the week. We have increased the number of places on Bug Week and to do so safely we are reliant on every parent's hands-on support during the week. Each adult will be given designated jobs throughout the week, either on or off the water.
On Saturday there will be the famous Bug Week Party from 4.30pm and weather permitting will be a BBQ. This event is always great fun, and the bar will be open for the adults to relax! This will be an opportunity to celebrate the children's success from the week.
A pre-Bug Week briefing will be held nearer the time which will contain any additional information. Please be aware that a parent/responsible adult, of any child participating in a Bug Week will need to attend the briefing.
Dates: Tuesday 25th July Saturday 29th July (inclusive). Please note, this year's Bug Week runs Tuesday to Saturday. On Sunday 30th July we will be encouraging as many children as possible to take part in Megz Race. Megz race is held to celebrate the memory of the daughter of past members of the club. The whole basis of the race is for those participating to have a bit of fun by crewing with someone they don't usually race with.
