May Bank Holiday Series

Congratulations to the race officers John Cooper and Chris Burke for a successful May Bank Holiday series assisted by the calm quiet Phil Selwood and Barry. In the absence of Patrick and subsequent report the results can be seen on the web site. A great turn out for both days and great conditions albeit colder than it should be.

The 49er had its first 2023 outing and despite the harsh and quite frankly unkind sweepstake the first race was zero capsizes and the second race was one capsize so I hope you all lost a lot of money!

Barney (Rubble) Monk sailed the Topaz 14 Monday singlehanded (the real reason for extra safety cover - not the 49er). These boats are on loan to the club for the rest of the season for boat-less trainee members to try after approval from Barry, Chloe or Caleb. Need to be booked via the club Book Online.

From a bosuns mate perspective the safety boats were put away beautifully on Monday, text book - as if someone had read and comprehended the detailed instructions.

Thank you to all who volunteered in the race box, the safety boats and the bar. Thank you also to Sasha and Jonty for the great food all weekend.
